Ostentatious Wedding Cards

Weddings are on my mind... well, for one, there is an upcoming one of my cousin sis. And I'm excited to attend it. Not that I have the card yet, but then coincidentally, I chanced upon my own dating back to 1995!

Surprise Gifts

As the evening of 16-April dawned, I was informed by a neighbor that they had received an airmail packet on my behalf. And lo and behold, there was this nicely stitched up cloth packed parcel.

Mystic secret

Aap ki Aankhon Mein...{In your eyes I find some mystic secrets} rings in my ears as I write this, reminding me of the sexuality then, and now! When I grew up, the Polka Dot Bikini, oops, Saree, was a unique form of sensuality.

Crass Indian Attitude

I attended a Workshop on managing Taxes, held in English on 7-April in Bonn. 13 folks attended, of which 3 (including me), were of Indian origin. Normally, one would expect that living in Germany would teach the average Joe to respect time and be sensitive to others too!

Sole worn out, yet Soul alive!

Last Friday 4-4-14, I landed in the city center. As I walked around, I noticed the large tent, which seemed to host everything for the upcoming Sunday Deutsche Post (annual) Marathon in Bonn. As I strolled in, amongst items on sale included fancy running shoes, OTC drugs for joints, running shorts, t-shirts, etc. However, a large heap of used shoes, caught my attention.

Michelin Star Cousins

I've a bunch of Richie Rich cousins. Well, mostly these are cousins who are married off in well-to-do families. Or lets say, they got lucky. Or perhaps, they were smart enough, not to run away with a pauper!

Uli and his bars

My best buddy is a rave when it comes to knowing the nooks and corners of a town, specially the best food and bar joints. He for himself, seems to love Indian food. Surprisingly? But then Uli and bars go even better! He can drive you half way around town and to the most obscure lanes, to savor the...

The flying kiss

It is always a good feeling, if you can help people. Specially those, who can't get any, in an hour of need? Travelers arriving at FRA Airport seldom catch trains, further to get home. And what do you do when you see someone frantically rushing to get their train? Possibly, if these venues were populated with helpers, that would be wonderful...

PC ~ the epicentre of 8.0

I've not seen "Ram Leela" as yet (as of 27-Dec-2013), but as the aftermath of an earthquake is felt long after, I just reviewed "Ram Chahe Leela" song. And I'm going to share my non-graphical version of the same. Ladies here may please excuse any overtones, as much as they did of PC's act!

My 1st German Poem!

warum sagst du, du hast kein glück gehabt? ———————————————————-

Santos – Adeus Amigo!!

…what Good Men are made of… Santos – The Amigo, the bestest Onkel Kumpel (Uncle~Friend) came to this Earth on 16-08-1935 and left in a bit of a rush on 25-04-2013. But he leaves behind enumerable sweet memories of discussions, wine sessions and above all – grilling the Fish. And an absolutely clean garden both in front and rear of the house!

Indian Education is Priceless

My mentor (yeah) wrote in a leading Business Daily, on how “Indian Education is Useless”, making me dig deeper in to the well of education system, he claimed to be so forthrightly top of the curve?

Delhi and its dirty conspiracy theories

Given the mo(u)rning discourse by our nation’s fancied Prime Minister, led me to believe that our politicians definitely suffer from “multi-organs failure”.

Caro – 90 cups that will touch her lips!

I have this very special (and amazing) friend, whom I asked if I could get anything for her, as I was flying from Germany to India. And pat came the reply “I’d be happy if you could bring a box of Caro Kaffee. But seriously, NOT important AT ALL!”.

Purpose behind everything…

If I can summarize the 01-Dec-12 evening on a HIGH note, the one big reason for me to step out of my home after being stuck all day, as late as 9:25pm, was to see off a friend who had come over to my place (to help me clean up and sort a bunch of papers, etc).

Oxymoron

Somehow ‘Oxymoron’ word cropped up twice in a row in the last 2 days. And this one time, it was a bomber…and I thought, OMG, I live in a world of Oxymoron's for a change!

Recycling

As I cleared old mail (still in their envelopes) today, I was reminded of the true concept of Recycling – something my Dad practices better than us all - thought it may seem old fashioned, but definitely a lesson in life, that flashed by as I squandered away sizeable amounts of paper away in the “Blau Tonne” the box for recycling paper.
